Coumadin (Warfarin) is an anticoagulant (blood thinner). Coumadin reduces the formation of blood clots by blocking the formation of certain clotting factors. Coumadin is used to prevent heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots in veins and arteries. Coumadin may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
Doxycycline is used to treat bacterial infections, including pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections; Lyme disease; acne; infections of skin, genital, and urinary systems; and anthrax (after inhalational exposure). It was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for schizophrenia, for acute manic and mixed episodes associated with bipolar disorder.
